Microgrant program: New deadline 30 June
We’ve already received many great solutions story pitches from our international call, but we still have room for a few more.
If you’re from Central or Eastern Europe and you have an idea you think would make a great solutions story, apply to our microgrant program and you could receive up to 600 euros.
Story pitches must be submitted in English, but don’t worry! Your English doesn’t have to be perfect.

If you know the SJ methodology, have strong written and verbal English communication skills, and can work remotely, you may be the perfect candidate.

Czech Journalism Awards
We’re also excited to announce that the winner of the 2021 Czech Journalism prize for solutions journalism was one of our mentees! Journalist Zdenka Kovarikova wrote about how Czech towns are employing land consolidation to make rural areas greener and less flood-prone for Ekolist.cz magazine.
Our mentee Lucie Cejkova was also nominated for her story about a Czech city that is leading the way in alternative energy.
The Journalism Awards are organized by Nadace Open Society Foundation, and recognize quality journalism that captures contemporary social issues.
