People in Need: nominations for Homo Homini 2020 Award

Every year, at the launch of the One World Human Rights Documentary Film Festival, People in Need confers the Homo Homini award to individuals who have greatly contributed to the promotion of human rights and democracy and nonviolent solutions to political conflicts.

Since 1994 when Homo Homini was first awarded, it is already a very impressive list of outstanding people – see here.

Last year, the Homo Homini laureate was Tajik lawyer Buzurgmehr Yorov who has been defending human rights for many years despite facing severe persecution as a result of his work. See the 2019 ceremony here.

Please, send us your suggestions on individuals or organizations active in the human rights field by the 10th of February 2021. We would also like to ask you to mention what they do and why you think their work is extraordinary. It is necessary to put all the information into the nomination form here:

The laureate of this award will then be chosen by PIN´s executive board. The award will be presented during the One World film festival in Prague in May 2020 and if possible, we will invite the laureate of Homo Homini 2020 to Prague for the award ceremony.
