Join CEELI’s Trainings on Strategic Litigation!

The CEELI Institute is pleased to announce the launch of a new series of trainings on strategic litigation. These programs are designed to help participants build practical skills and deepen their understanding of how strategic litigation can be used to safeguard judicial independence, promote accountabilitystrengthen the rule of law, and protect human rights. Participants will also enhance their knowledge of EU law and other key legal instruments essential for effective litigation strategies.

Fundamental sessions – for those beginning their work in strategic litigation or looking to strengthen their foundational skills.

• How the EU law and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights can be utilized in both national courts and European courts.

• Case studies and practical examples.

• Strategic approaches.

• Fundamental rights and rule of law cases that can lead to significant legal precedents.

• Legal remedies and redress mechanisms available under EU law.

Advanced sessions – for experienced practitioners seeking a deeper dive into litigation techniques and related issues.

• Advanced litigation techniques.

• How to address Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation (SLAPPs).

• How to identify and prioritize cases with the highest potential for success and impact.

• Mapping out litigation strategies.

• How to apply CJEU and ECHR case-law effectively.

The trainings are open to civil society organizations (CSOs), legal practitioners, and human rights defenders from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. Applicants from other EU Member States may also be considered, depending on availability.

All trainings will be held at the CEELI Institute in Prague, Czech Republic. Accommodation will be provided at the training venue, and travel costs will be reimbursed up to specified limits. Full details on travel reimbursement are available on the training website.
