Join us at the 26th Forum 2000 Conference in Prague!: A few weeks before the 26th annual Forum 2000 Conference in Prague (August 31- September 2, 2022) “Democracy’s Clear and Present Danger: How Do We Respond?”, we invite you to join us. This year, in the context of the war in Europe, the economic crisis and the recovery from the pandemic, the conference will feature a special “Forum for Ukraine” and discussions on the global resurgence of authoritarianism, democratic alliances and new ideas on how to make democracy more resilient. 

“The fight for freedom never ends”: Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union: Under the motto “Europe as a Task: Rethink, Rebuild, Repower”, based on a 1996 speech by President Václav Havel, the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU began. “The Russian invasion of Ukraine has shown us that our freedom and security are as threatened today as they were in the past. The fight for freedom never ends. The task of the European Union and the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU is to assist Ukrainians who are currently fighting for their homeland and for the freedom to choose their future”, said Petr Fiala, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, in a message published on July 15
