Presenting Non-Profit Organizations Participating in the 2012 NGO Market

This year, registration for the NGO Market reached more than half of its capacity during the first two hours after the opening and at this moment, the Forum 2000 Foundation has dozens of alternates registered. Forum 2000 is trying to accommodate as many participants as possible and therefore the fair will be extended to the area in front of the National Technical Library together with the music stage and various sports and other activities.

This year’s NGO Market will present almost 200 organizations, most of which are dedicated to social services and health care. However, many organizations devoted to education, training and research; culture, sports and leisure-time activities will be present as well, together with NGOs concerned with human rights and democracy promotion; crisis, humanitarian and development aid; environment and last but not least, religion and religious studies. The list of participating organizations can be found here.

The fair of non-profit organizations will be traditionally enriched by various accompanying events such as workshops, practical examples of NGO activities, music, volunteer offers and also projections of documentaries about civil society. Particular attention will be given to the theme of active aging, which will be presented in cooperation with project partners at the fair as well as during the accompanying events.

The NGO Market will be held for the 13th time on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the National Technical Library in Prague. More information about the fair can be found on the Forum 2000 website at www.ngomarket.cz. The first issue of the NGO Market newsletter can be downloaded here.
