Forum 2000 Bulletin, Issue 1, 2013.pdf (1,2 MB)

The introduction is given by the Director of the Forum 2000 Foundation, Jakub Klepal, who summarizes his first year in this position and our efforts to take forward the legacy of Forum 2000 founder, Václav Havel, and longtime Director Oldřich Černý.

The bulletin features the NGO Market 2013 which took place on Friday, May 3 in Prague. This year’s non-profit fair showcased nearly 200 NGOs and its special focus was to promote active citizenship. At the same time, preparations of the 17th annual Forum 2000 Conference are underway. It will be held this year in September and discussions will examine “Societies in Transitions”.

In this issue you can also read about the 2012 annual conference exploring the relationship between democracy and the media, our meeting with Cuban dissident Yoani Sánchez, and the Immovable Property Review Conference, as well as how we commemorated Václav Havel and Oldřich Černý and what issues in Burma and Venezuela were addressed by the Shared Concern Initiative in its recent statements.

More information can be found on the websites devoted to the individual projects.
