This milestone edition – three decades since the inaugural Forum 2000 gathering convened by President Václav Havel and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Elie Wiesel – comes at a critical moment for democratic governance and international cooperation. At a time when democracies face unprecedented internal rifts, in parallel with rising authoritarianism, escalating aggression, and the rapid pace of technological change, the conference will examine how we can reconfigure cooperation between global democratic actors to address the crucial challenges of our time.
