At a time when the people of Ukraine are bravely defending their country against Vladimir Putin’s aggression, the conference featured a special “Forum for Ukraine” where participants addressed the post-war future of Ukraine at the heart of the European and global democratic community. The conference sessions also discussed the global resurgence of authoritarianism, searched for ways how democratic alliances can be constructed, as well as looked for new ideas on how to make democracy more resilient in the current challenging environment.
The Prague Manifesto for a Free Ukraine (September 1, 2022) is one of the key outcomes of the Forum 2000 Conference and the “Forum for Ukraine”. It aims to send a strong message of support for Ukraine and for the struggle of its people. It also outlines some of the key steps needed to achieve a democratic and prosperous future of the country at the heart of the European Union and amongst the countries of the free world.
