Madeleine Albright passed away
On March 23, we received the sad news that Madeleine Albright (1937–2022), a Prague native, diplomat, first female US Secretary of State, dear friend to Václav Havel, and a beloved participant of the Forum 2000 projects, passed away. We deeply miss her! ICDR members express solidarity with Ukraine
The International Coalition for Democratic Renewal and its members support the Ukrainian people who are waging a historic struggle for freedom. Ukraine won’t accept a “puppet regime”

Public event in Madrid: Social protests in Latin America
On April 8, the Forum 2000 Foundation, in cooperation with Fundación Internacional para la Libertad and Cátedra Mario Vargas Llosa, are organizing a conference at Universidad CEU San Pablo in Madrid to discuss the reasons for the recent wave of mass demonstrations in the region. The speakers will address the common causes of the protests across different Latin American countries and discuss their democratizing potential in various authoritarian regimes. Experts and civil society leaders, including Venezuelan human rights lawyer Tamara Sujú, the director of Amnesty International Mexico Erika Guevara Rosas, or Rosa María Payá of Cuba Decide, will be among the speakers of the event.
