DEMAS has joined an open letter regarding the proposal “Rules for EU Fund Co-Financing for the Programming Period 2021-2027”. In the open letter addressed to the Minister of Finance, they reject the proposal to change the co-financing rules for EU funds.
“The proposed changes carry the risk of undermining the provision of public services by imposing a substantial increase in the co-financing obligations on implementers, including service providers, schools, municipalities, contributory organizations, and non-profit organizations. The purported savings of CZK 4.6 billion are dubious and this course of action would put the utilization of EU funds at risk. Instead, the Ministry of Finance should endorse a 0% co-financing approach for activities that benefit the public.”
