Conference: EU Enlargement Forum 2025 (1.-2.12.), Prague

EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy, with the support of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the European Commission, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Prague, the Embassy of Slovenia in Prague, and EUISS – European Union Institute for Security Studies cordially invite you to the conference EU Enlargement Forum 2025. 

The conference is taking place on Monday 1st of December and Tuesday 2nd of December in Prague. Please see the updated programme below for more information.

Registration for the conference is open until 15:00 on Wednesday, the 26th of November. To register for participation, use the link below. Please note that participation in the Forum is upon confirmation only, and that the capacity is limited. 

The Forum takes place over two days in Prague, Czechia. During the first day (1st of December), participants will take part in public panel discussions remembering the lessons of the 2004 Enlargement and discussing the role of women in the accession processes, at the premises of the European Commission in Prague. The first day will conclude at the German Embassy in Prague with a discussion on the importance of European integration in reconciliation processes, drawing on the experiences of Germany and Slovenia.

The second day of the conference (2nd of December) will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and will cover a range of issues connected to the current discussions of Enlargement: hybrid threats and resilience, Ukraine’s path to membership, importance of gradual integration as an economic driver, the EU’s next multiannual budget in light of possible enlargements and the challenges of capacities and reforms the candidate countries face.
