CEELI Institute Events – Disinformation: A New Global Information War?

Disinformation has become an everyday discussion topic among people, institutions, companies and even governments – some even call it a new type of warfare that can seriously damage our democratic systems.
What is disinformation? How can we detect it, and what can organizations, states and the general public do to counter this problem? These are topics to be discussed at a public discussion organized by the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), in cooperation with the CEELI Institute.

The event will take place on November 18 at the Villa Grebovka and will bring together regional experts, journalists, international and local organizations, the diplomatic community, academia, and the general public.

Speakers:
Dr. Beata Martin-Rozumilowicz, Director for Europe and Eurasia, IFES
Mr. Rasto Kuzel, Executive Director, MEMO 98, Slovakia
Mr. Pavel Bursik, Project Coordinator, Demagog.cz, Czech Republic
