Join the international conference on security and future of the EU, which will take place on 12.-13. May at the Prague Castle and Czernin Palace in Prague.
The conference with the subtitle “Pursuing prosperity in a shifting world” contains countless discussions on topics that will shape the future of the European Union:
- Global support for Ukraine and the future of relations with Russia
- European competitiveness and prosperity
- The EU’s future and role in the global market.
The conference is organised jointly with the Institute for International Relations (IIR) and the Association for International Affairs (AMO), in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the President of the Czech Republic, the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic, the Hans Seidel Stiftung, the Office of the Government of the Czech Republic and the Visegrad Fund.

Head of the Green Europe Research Program / Senior Research Fellow

Call for Fellowship Applications: Think Visegrad 2025
We are excited to announce that Think Visegrad is offering eight visiting fellowships for the Summer/Autumn/Winter of 2025. This unique opportunity invites non-V4 experts to engage in high-level discussions and research on issues of regional strategic importance within the Visegrad Group (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia).
About Think Visegrad:
Think Visegrad is a think tank platform focused on analyzing key issues relevant to the V4 countries and offering strategic recommendations to governments and international organizations. We aim to foster structured dialogue, innovative research, and policy solutions on a wide range of topics, from political science and international relations to economics.
What’s on offer?
- Fellowship Duration: 6 to 8 weeks, with at least 4 weeks spent in-person at the hosting institution.
- Research Focus: Fellowships are available in a broad array of research areas, including political science, international relations, and economics. Applicants are encouraged to align their topics with the research focus of the host institute.
- Stipend: Each fellow will receive a lump sum of €3,000 for costs related to lodging and local transport, with up to €500 covered for international travel.
- Public Engagement: Fellows will develop a policy paper and deliver a public presentation on a pre-agreed topic during their stay.
Eligibility:
This opportunity is open to experts from outside the Visegrad Group countries. Each fellowship will be hosted by one of the core network think tanks of Think Visegrad (list available on our website).

Hot take: “The current crisis is an opportunity to strengthen Europe.”
Join us on the third Thursday of the month in our scouting neighborhood for an open discussion following a presentation by Monika Ladmanová on this hot take. Monika Ladmanová is the head of the European Commission Representation in the Czech Republic. She has also worked for the Czech Helsinki Committee and the Open Society Fund. Together with European Commissioner Věra Jourová, she helped prepare the directive on work-life balance for people who care for loved ones.
If you’re interested in Europe and our place within it, come network with those who are “shaping” Europe.

Public debate: What’s new in the European Parliament? Reflection on the plenary session
We would like to invite you to the next in a series of public debates that will take place every month!
During the debates, we will look at key topics discussed in the plenary sessions of the European Parliament. The aim of the debates is to offer a clear overview of the decisions taken and their wider impact on the European Union and the Czech Republic.
Each debate will provide a space for reflection on the major legislative and political steps taken by the European Parliament. You can look forward to a direct discussion with MEPs and experts, allowing for an open dialogue with both the professional and general public.

New Impulses for EU Enlargement: Opportunities for Citizens and Bussinesses

Climate debate
On Monday 10.3. we discussed climate at the British Embassy Prague. How the heat waves affect city life? How to communicate climate change and where to get the necessary data?
These and other questions were discussed by Jan Daňhelka from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, Zuzana Harmáčková from the Global Change Research Institute CAS and Milan Vítek from Facts about climate.
The event was part of the Prague Climate Academy debate series.
